The Boost Program
Return to work is an explicit focus of the program. The treatment program typically lasts four weeks, with participants attending daily treatment for a full eight-hour day. Cognitive behavioral coping skills training is a major part of the program, with patients learning important information about sleep, pacing of activities, depression, relaxation training, mindfulness, stress management, assertiveness training, and other valuable topics. Patients are asked to participate in a weekly group session with family members or significant others to help reinforce the principles learned in the program. Additionally, physical treatments such as corrective movement, core Pilates, yoga, posture training, functional movement training, ergonomic training, and cardiovascular/endurance work are used in an individualized treatment program. All of the above approaches are combined to reduce disability/improve function.
